SHIN & TOMOKO AZUMI for Guzzini

Both the Azumis were born in Japan: Shin in Kobe in 1965 and Tomoko in Hiroshima in 1966. They met at Kyoto City University of Art. In 1995, they formed Azumi and started establishing themselves in the design world. "Above all their work focuses on the manner of using objects and suggests new ways of interacting with them," wrote Claire Catterall of the Azumis in her catalogue for the 1999 Stealing Beauty exhibition at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts. "Objects should always give us pleasure – not just when we look at them but when we use them."Shin and Tomoko were divorced in 2005 and professionally separated at that time also.

CARALLO & GRANDIS / designtrip for Guzzini

designtrip is a design studio based in Milan, founded in 2003 by Nunzia Paola Carallo and Jacopo Grandis.Their background comes from education in prominent Italian Design Schools and from experience developed working with companies in Europe and in Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan).The company’s approach to a project is driven by creativity, passion and design skill, together with insight in manufacturing processes, product development and contemporary trends They do not strive to be design stars but they create to make people happy. In their professional opinion, pleasure in design can come from the comfort of a shape or the surprise of an innovation.


Antonio Citterio

ANTONIO CITTERIO for Guzzini

Citterio graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and since 1972 has worked for many leading manufacturers. Maxalto, a B&B Italia brand, is designed and coordinated entirely by Antonio Citterio. He holds lectures and conferences all over the world and his work has been extensively exhibited and published. He has won many prizes, among which the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 1987 and 1995. His products are part of the MoMA permanent collection and the Centre_Georges-Pompidou in Paris.
